"Is your love more than mine, or is my love less than yours?”  This is a  quote from a famous gay movie,Your Name Engraved Herein, which captures the powerful moment where the main character questions the definition of love. In the scene, the main character asked the priest why it’s okay for the priest to love a girl but it’s unacceptable for him to love a boy. Just like what the movies show.I totally support that love comes in all forms and that love knows no gender boundary. All kinds of love deserve to be embraced and respected. Everyone should have the right to choose whoever they love and have the right to be married. 

 

Same-sex marriage should be legalized because,Legalization of same-sex marriage it can not only grants same-sex couples the same benefits as heterosexual married couples, but also has positive impact on mental health, furthermore, the notion that same-sex marriage negatively affects child development is incorrect.

Same-sex couples should share the same benefits as heterosexual married couples do. Marriage is a fundamental right, and everyone regardless of their sexual orientation should have equal access to it. Same-sex couples should share the same legal protections and benefits such as adoption rights, inheritance rights, healthcare coverage and the right to make medical decisions for their spouse. Once the same-sex marriage had be legalized, the same-sax couple can get the right to visit or make medical decisions for their spouse when emergency event happenes.This is quite crucial, cause without this right, it might happened that the spouse could only witness the other lying in the intensive cure center but having nothing they can do because they have no right to do so. In other cases, due to biological limitation, it is hard for gay couples to be pregnant or to have children. Though, thanks to advanced technology, there are methods such as intrauterine insemination or surrogacy to help couples have a kid if desired. However, the high cost of these would become a significant financial burden to the couple. Thus, the adoption right is really important and not only heterosexual couples but all couples should share the rights. Same-sex couples have the right as everyone else to be with the person they love and be qualified as all other couples to be married. Legalization of same-sex marriage can ensure everyone enjoy all the same rights and benefits protected by the law.

 

Legalised the same-sex marriage really affect many LGBT individuals. LGBT is an initialism that stands for “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender.” The legalization will really affect their mental health, make them more confident, improve their emotional health or make their relationships more stable and persist for an extended time, etc. Because of the legalization of same-sex marriage, LGBT community has been more positively affected and has become healthier physically and mentally. From an economic perspective, when same-sex marriage is legalized, LGBT who have been suppressed for a long time and unable to hold marriages openly should have a good consumption rate on wedding-related products in recent years. From a moral perspective, acknowledging the existence of diverse genders and sexual orientations can reduce bad gender jokes, sexual harassment, and various behaviors that arbitrarily interpret the sexual orientation of others, which seriously infringes on the sexual autonomy of others. However, the legalization of same-sex marriage will not only make LGBT community healthier physically and mentally, but it can also greatly reduce problems such as unfriendly workplace environments and unequal gender division of labor at home.

Some says that same-sex marriage may have negative impacts on families, children and society. For example, children in families with heterosexual parents show more obvious gender differences than children in LGBT parenting. Moreover, boys from lesbian families lack male role models and are less masculine than boys from other types of families. Instead, they develop feminine traits due to being exposed to them. This is the result of the inability of LGBT parenting to balance the structure of men and women. However, there are studies that have proved that these concepts are completely discriminatory and totally make no sense. Based on an analysis of 34 studies published in same-sex marriage legal countries between 1989 and April 2022, British Medical Journal (BMJ) Global Health pointed out that Parents’ sexual orientation is not an important factor of children’s development. The research also discovered that children in families with seme-sex parents actually do as good as children from “traditional” opposite-sex families in both mental health and educational outcomes. Moreover, when it came to psychological adjustment and child-parent relationships, children with same-sex parents actually outperformed their peers. The researchers suggest that growing up with same-sex parents families can nurture children’s higher tolerance of diversity and open mindedness which enable them to be more successful or do better under various environments. In sum, it’s no doubt that a parent's sexual orientation does no harm to children’s development and it is unquestionably that same-sex parents can be prominent in parenting. The saying of same-sex parents are not ideal for being parents or that children will be negatively affected by their same-sex parents is totally discrimination and unjustified.

While some may argue that same-sex parents will affect their own children’s development, the evidence overwhelmingly supports same-sex marriage should be legalized and should be fully embraced. Same-sex couples should have the same right as oppisite-sex couples and be able to marry anyone they love. All the rights protected by laws for married couples should be granted to same-sex couples as well, not to mention that having same-sex marriage being legal can bring benefits to mental health of gay individuals not only preventing them from feeling islotion from the society but also enhance their confident and even reduce the level of anxiety which can lead to lower the suicide rate. With so many listed advantages and the concern of bringing negative effects to children has been clarified, there is no reason for anyone to be against same-sex marriage legalization. In brief, it is crucial that we embrace and respect all forms of love, ensuring equal rights for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation.
